Financial Aid

For those who are interested in financial assistance, the process includes multiple steps. The following steps, in this order, are required to be followed by all those applying for financial assistance:

1.  Submit application for NH Education Freedom Accounts (through the NH Children's Scholarship Fund).

In 2021, the State of New Hampshire created the new Education Freedom Account (EFA) program to help expand educational opportunities for New Hampshire children. Eligible New Hampshire families earning up to 350% of the poverty line can direct part of their child’s state education funding to pay for tuition at the school of their choice (including SJRS), tutoring, online learning programs, educational supplies, internet connectivity, and other educational expenses. Applications (managed by the NH Children's Scholarship Fund) are accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis.  CLICK HERE for details and to apply.

3. The Diocese of Manchester has scholarships available to families. The new La Cerva Scholarship is now open for applicants. Established by Ella Sue and Salvatore La Cerva in 1993 in collaboration with then-Bishop Leo O’Neil, the scholarship fund enables a Catholic education for students entering grades 6-12. Scholarship awards may cover up to 75% of a yearly Catholic school tuition in Diocesan or parochial (parish) schools in New Hampshire. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and additional criteria. Applications will be accepted until May 1. CLICK HERE for the La Cerva Scholarship Fund Application.

CLICK here for the application for the Bishop Christian Scholarship. The deadline is April 25. Awards will be for the 2025-26 school year and will be sent directly to the school. Decisions will be announced in May.

4.  Parish of the Holy Spirit families may apply for tuition assistance from the Parish. CLICK HERE for the letter with details and the application. If you have questions, please contact the Parish Office directly at 603-352-3525 or holyspirit.peace@gmail.com. The deadline is May 15. For Catholic families who are members of other parishes in the Monadnock region, you are strongly encouraged to contact your parish directly to inquire about possible financial assistance.

5.  Submit the FACTS Financial Aid application to be eligible for the need-based Lamothe Adopt-a-Student Fund and the Nielsen Scholarship Fund. CLICK HERE to apply.

Financial assistance for SJRS families comes from the Monsignor Daniel O. Lamothe Adopt-A-Student Fund. As a graduate of St. Joseph Regional School, Monsignor Dan was a strong supporter of Catholic education throughout his life. In his honor, this fund was established to provide much needed tuition assistance to families with children attending SJRS and OLMA.

The John J. Nielsen Scholarship is given to Catholic students within the Parish of the Holy Spirit who exhibit Mr. Nielsen's desire to spread the faith through education and to ensure that no student is excluded from Catholic education for financial reasons. This scholarship assists three families each year to overcome financial concerns to have their children attend St. Joseph Regional School or Our Lady of Mercy Academy. Three students in either elementary, middle or high school receive a Nielsen scholarship each year. We are honored to have the trust of the Nielsen family, grateful for their continued commitment to our students, and proud to honor Mr. Nielsen's wishes.
